Ok, I think I’ll be blogging alot and telling everyone stories about how I really feel on this new system. Heck, I am still excited getting acquainted with the d700. I’m still going through the thick manual reading its function 1 by 1. Looking for a function in a nikon d700 is like going into amazon jungle, you’ll have high chances of getting lost. It took me like 2 minutes to look through the menu to find the freaking auto ISO sensitivity option and turn it off. But I suppose its just a matter of getting use to it.
I find canon’s big dial is more fun to play with.
Yesterday, i fooled around with a 20mm lens shooting night scene handheld outside my apartment. Now i’m not gonna be comparing d700 ISO performance with 50D’s ISO performance, its just a different league, maybe someday i can borrow a d300 or a 5Dii and write to you about it’s ISO performance. I took the shots below at f4 at 1/30s shutter speed. Its noise performance is amazing. Check it out. erm, white balance for both shots is different, i was too excited shooting the 6400, i forget to set it back to the standard white balance.
ISO6400!!
You may view the really large size here.
