Here is something interesting to share. I had the opportunity to capture a ring shot for a jewelry shop owner from my fellow BNI members.
I hardly do product shots, well, I’ve only occasionally done simple stuffs like toys, fruits shots and so on, but I could say this is my first time shooting jewelry professionally, there were ย a few challenges like getting rid off ย the dusty stuffs laying on the ring and around it and shooting at such closed up detailed shots, some scratches may occur as well. Also, the ring is reflective, it might have some of my own reflection or things that I don’t want reflected in there. Lastly, not to forget, choosing my preferred surface. ย These are a little challenges which I manage to overcome.
All in all, it took me quite some time to get everything right, from lighting, to placing the ring and getting the shot right bringing out the best of the ring. I’m quite satisfied with the shots I get.
Anyway, here are the shots and my setup. Feel free to comment. ๐
the ring… ๐ These two are my final chosen ones on different surfaces.
My setup, its a mess
yea, I’m happy with the shots. But there is still room for improvement. ๐
