Wei’s Portraiture

Here is something special. Wei is a young shy penangnite looking forward to capture a few outdoor portraiture. Well, it was a beautiful sunday morning and we head out for an urban city scenery shoot. Well, Wei didn’t enjoy much posing, instead, we try something different this time. With a little lomo feel to my editing, it makes the series perfect. Thanks to Wei for being specially sporting to pose in front of the camera.

Ok, past two posts has been something out of the box. Here is something more familiar, some portraiture work.

Well, its time for me to polish my off-shoe flash technique I learnt in the past week. As you all may know me, I always shoot under natural lighting. This time around, i’ll be using my faithful SB900 for a little flashy stuff. It was 6:30pm, and I’ve got a model, without much hesitation, my natural instinct was of course to shoot her potraiture having the sun setting as background under the beautiful sky.

Then we head for an empty abandoned ground behind my house in my hometown Kuantan.

As it was 6:30pm, I didn’t have much time to shoot, all I wanted was a simple shot, with a nice sun setting as background, with a properly exposed model, with a little flaring from the setting sun for the mood in the shot, in an abandoned urban area.

Last weekend, I had a great couple portraiture session with this two love birds, Jimnie and KarBoon. They just moved over to Butterworth area so we were bumping around to look for this old train service yard. Special thanks LoctorMayat for his directions to this place, with a little bit of wikimapia, we manage to find the place. Do drop by his site too for some funny and educational articles on photography.

Anyway, we had so much fun till we the shooting time dragged on over our intended time. Poor jimnie has to suffer a few good mosquito bites. But her patience had really paid off with this good series of photos. Also thanks to WanChing from O-peekaboo for being my assistant for the day.

Jiun Kai & Chin Pei – couple portraiture

Its been quite some time since i last posted my couple portraiture work. Jiun Kai and his lovely wife tied the knot on a very special date 090909, a significant date for the chinese beliefs for long lasting love. While they’re getting ready for their wedding in coming march next year, we wanted some couple portrait shots to be done. And off we go around island getting a few interesting shots.

Lastly, my favorite shot of the day….I love the way her sports shoes fit into a formal dressing giving the shot a taste of casualness. i just love it…

Flash Strobing~

What have i been doing for the last few weeks? The answer is flash strobing. Me and a group of photographers were spending some time at night after work around penang learning up flash strobing. These are the few shots we came up with.

They looked really good, i’m beginning to get addicted with flash strobing. Maybe we’ll be shooting pre-weds in the night coming future.

A little bit of Michelle&ChuanChee

After a double back to back wedding assignment over the weekend, i’m totally burn out. The photos were amazing i couldnt stop looking at them till i doze off in front of my comp.
Anyway, I had great fun, its never more fun to spend my weekends on happy occasions like these.

Here is a little bit of potrait shots which I did for Michelle and CC’s wedding today in a rundown playground near CC’s house in sungai petani.
