Kek Lok Si – Kuan Yin Statue + CNY lighting

Although I specialize in wedding and portraiture photography, my interest in photography also covers night photography and landscapes. Recently, I dropped by Kek Lok Si for the opening of the new Kuan Yin statue with the completion of the roof. The lightings were on for a week everynight for prayers and opening celebration.

Here are some of the shots of the night I dropped by. The lightings the view is just magnificent. However, they only turned on the lights around kuan yin statue, so I didn’t really get the chance to cover the whole Kek Lok Si yet. Coming chinese new year will definitely attract alot of shutterbugs to capture this maginicent statue of penang.
